Airwood: The Multifunctional Wooden Drone

Combining Innovation and Sustainability

Airwood, designed by Uavi Technology, is a series of four-axis drones with a unique wooden DIY structure. This innovative design not only offers excellent performance but also promotes sustainability by reducing the use of plastics and metals. With its modularity and programmable features, Airwood is revolutionizing the drone industry.

Airwood stands out from other drones with its wooden DIY structure, which adds warmth and a touch of craftsmanship to the world of drones. The design team at Uavi Technology drew inspiration from the beauty and versatility of wooden buildings and products, aiming to awaken the craftsman spirit in everyone's heart. By starting with a small idea, they have made innovation a habit for both children and adults.

What sets Airwood apart is its use of composite basswood board as the main material. This choice not only ensures structural strength but also gives the drone a soft surface with a silk luster. The boards are cut using laser technology, resulting in precise and visually appealing components. With FSC and CARB certifications, the entire manufacturing process is highly environmentally friendly.

The Airwood Wooden DIY Drone offers a range of features and functionalities that rival mid-end consumer-grade drones in the market. It supports indoor hovering, aerial photography, and even programming. The modular design allows users to easily install different structures using interchangeable controllers, motors, batteries, and other modules.

When users receive their Airwood package, they will find a wooden box containing wood boards and all the necessary electronic parts. Assembling the drone is a hands-on experience, requiring users to build the frame and even the remote controller. The wood frame can be easily changed to give the drone a new appearance. For aerial photography or programming flights, users can simply attach the corresponding module to the flight controller and connect it.

The Airwood project started in March 2017 in Shenzhen, China, and has since evolved into a fully realized product. The team behind Airwood faced several challenges, including creating a structurally stable drone using thin wooden boards. They also had to develop AI algorithms to ensure a stable and consistent flying experience across different frame designs.

Airwood has received recognition for its innovative design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Toys, Games, and Hobby Products category in 2020. This prestigious award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.

Airwood is not just a drone; it is a symbol of innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship. By combining technology and natural materials, Uavi Technology has created a unique product that appeals to both drone enthusiasts and those seeking a more eco-friendly alternative. With Airwood, the future of drones is taking flight.
